Person #29 - A True Spring

Image
Undertone Person #29 is at home in the saturated mid-tones of 2nd column. The lighter tones of 3d column work as well, except they lack saturation. Their skin-tone benefits from the warmth of the orange, but the clarity of their skin enables them to wear the cooler pinks as well, which is typical for a spring.    Season test We are looking for light to medium-deep colors, and will compare  spring vs summer.     True Spring     True Summer   Person #29 looks healthy and radiant in the True Spring colors, whereas the soft, cool tones of Summer cast a grey shadow on their skin. We might have a True Spring at our hands; To be sure, we need to check for potential flows:    Warm Spring   Light Spring   Bright Spring Warm Spring is too deep and soft, rendering the skin dark and muddled. Light Spring is too cool and soft, the warmth of the skin tone is turned down (especially the colors of the first 2 columns). Bright spring i...

Person #28 - A Clear, Deep Autumn

Image
Undertone   Person #28 is obviously warm and shine in the mid-range to deeper tones such as the saturated orange and brown. They are almost certainly an autumn, but do well in medium saturation . Season test    Being warm and deep, we compare True Autumn and True Winter .   True Autumn   True Winter    There is no question that True Autumn is a great option for #28, but we can improve on it a little. Though True Winter is overwhelmingly cool and saturated, slight increase in depth and  clarity might actually beneficial. We try out the Deep Autumn palette:   Deep Autumn   This is the most ideal palette within the 16-season system, and very stunning. One can argue that it at times might be a bit too cool and dark, sometimes shading the skin slightly (see the mustard yellow and brick red). In between Deep Autumn and the custom Clear Autumn , we have a great match:   Clear Autumn (custom)   Their worst colors Be...

Person #27 - A Soft Autumn

Image
Undertone test     The primary characteristic of person #27 is their softness . They are very neutral , but seem to lean slightly on the warmer side , being more connected to the brown and salmon in the upper row than the marine blue and light pink in the bottom.    Season test   We are comparing the soft seasons, autumn vs  summer.       True Autumn   True Summer    16-season True Autumn is better than True Summer at bringing out the slight golden warmth in #27's skin, but it is overly yellow and deep. True Summer isn't quite it either, too grey and mid-range. We consider the flow from autumn into summer, Soft Autumn :     Soft Autumn   This palette is a great match in softness, depth and temperature. The sister season is Soft Summer: Soft Summer   Their worst colors The opposite of soft and neutral-warm is bright and neutral-cool , aka Bright Winter:  Bright Winter     ...

Person #26 - A Deep, Cool Summer

Image
Undertone test  Person #26   has a cool , beige and rosy skin tone and looks great in the medium-deep , cool colors of the bottom row. Though they are muted , they can handle a decent amount of saturation.  Season test Suspecting a cool summer, I am comparing summer and winter colors .   True Summer     True Winter     True Summer is a better fit than True Winter, but the depth and coolness of True Winter blue and purple gives a nice contrast to #26's skin tone. Person #26 is indeed a  Cool Summer :     Cool Summer   Their sister season in the 16-season system is Cool Winter:    Cool Winter   I notice that person #26 primarily benefits from the depth of winter, so I have adjusted the Cool Summer palette into a deeper version that brings out their best qualities:    Deep, Cool Summer (custom)     Their worst colors Being muted, cool and deep, the bright and warmer colors of Bright Spring c...

Person #25 - A Cool Summer

Image
Undertone Person #25 first and foremost at home in the cool colors of the bottom row. Additionally, this person is soft , but not overtly so. We most likely have a summer at our hands. Season test We put person #25 in 16-season True Summer vs True Winter:   True Summer   True Winter They look right at home in True Summer colors and benefit very little from True Winter overall. One thing to note though is that a little extra saturation and depth might actually be beneficial. We take a look at the flow seasons Cool Summer and Cool Winter instead:   Cool Summer    Cool Winter   Person #25 definitely benefits from the Cool Summer palette, but might want to be careful not to increase depth or saturation too much.   Their worst colors  Warm and bright,  the Warm Spring palette enhances unflattering yellow tones and looks harsh on our Cool Summer: Warm Spring

Person #24 - A Very Neutral, Deep Winter

Image
Undertone test   Person #24 is very neutral . Their skin tone warms up considerably when exposed to sun, and it is difficult to say whether they lean warm or cool. They seem to lose slight definition in warm colors, which simultaneously enhance the yellow tones in the skin. They are also not very clear or muted, the primary characteristic is their depth ; They shine in deep blue and brown.  Season test   Primarily deep, we compare person #24 in winter vs autumn colors: True Winter    True Autumn   True Winter enhances definition, and person #24 does quite well in winter green, red and purple. But the undertone isn't fully represented in the cool colors. The True Autumn brown and purple are quite nice on their skin, but overall True Autumn is both too muted and too warm. Person #24 has a flow from winter into autumn, represented by the Deep Winter palette:   Deep Winter   The Deep Autumn sister season is Deep Autumn:   Deep Autumn Their wors...

Person #23 - A Soft, Cool Winter

Image
Undertone test   Person #23 has some surface redness to their skin, but is still quite clear in skin tone. They shine in the medium-deep, cool colors of the bottom row, indicating a potential winter. Season test Being primarily cool, we compare winter vs. summer:    True Winter True Summer   The depth of the winter palette is correct, but the colors are quite saturated. The best colors are the coolest, blue and purple. True Summer is not an ideal fit either, it is too soft and light - The truly ideal palette lies in between, in the flow palette Cool Winter .   Cool Winter   With the sister season being Cool Summer:   Cool Summer   Though Cool Winter is the most optimal within the 16-season system, we can improve things. Since person #23 is  deep, cool  and slightly muted , they do not benefit from the saturation or lightness of the Cool Winter palette. Instead they are better off using the custom Soft Winter palette :  ...
