Person #30 - A Soft Summer

 Hurray! Thirty Colorful Blocks has now reached its 30th post! 

I am currently working on a lot of exciting ideas, including an interface for doing color analysis using the thirty colorful blocks method. Stay tuned!

Undertone test

This person is quite soft, most of the colors in this test are too saturated and blur the edges of the skin. They are also cool,  but not overtly so; The bottom row matches the rosy tones of the skin, but fails to accommodate the slight golden warmth. Oppositely, the warm colors of the upper row enhances this warmth too much, rendering the skin slightly sallow (see the orange square). Depth-wise, they do the best in medium tones.

Soft and neutral-cool, I will compare 16-season True Summer and True Autumn:

The True Summer colors work quite well with Person #30's skin tone, except the value-contrast isn't quite high enough, and the grey coolness seems slightly draining (see the grey and pink square especially). The value-contrast is too high in True Autumn colors, and the hue to yellow, but I notice that the army green, petrol and deep purple aren't bad on #30. This confirms that person #30 has a flow from summer into autumn, they are a Soft Summer:

Their sister season, Soft Autumn, being both darker and warmer, is a bit severe on person #30:

Their worst colors

Soft seasons' main enemy are bright colors, such as Bright Spring and Bright Winter. These palettes are extreme in the sense of saturation and will take the attention away from the person:

Person #1 - A Deep Winter

Undertone test This person has a quite neutral skin tone. Though the cool row at the bottom is best at bringing out the skin in a flattering manner, the two pinks are a bit too harsh. Oppositely, the deep brown in the top left is quite good.  Deep colors seem to be their best.   Season test Neutral and deep, we are looking at winter  vs.  autumn  seasons . Person #26 - A Deep, Cool Summer

Undertone test  Person #26   has a cool , beige and rosy skin tone and looks great in the medium-deep , cool colors of the bottom row. Though they are muted , they can handle a decent amount of saturation.  Season test Suspecting a cool summer, I am comparing summer and winter colors .   True Summer     True Winter     True Summer is a better fit than True Winter, but the depth and coolness of True Winter blue and purple gives a nice contrast to #26's skin tone. Person #3 - A True Autumn

Undertone test  Person #3 is very warm. They glow in the warm colors of the upper row, whereas the blue tones of the lower row almost make their skin seem greasy. Especially brown and orange suits this person well, indicating medium to deep colors are the best. They look like an autumn, but to sure, we put them in both autumn and spring colors. Season test We put person #3 in 16-season True Autumn vs. True Spring .   True Autumn   True Spring    This person absolutely rocks True Autumn colors, whereas they seem muted and slightly grey in the brighter and lighter spring palette. We could conclude the analysis here, but to be sure, we also take a look at Deep Autumn and Warm Autumn, to see if there is any indication of  flow : Deep Autumn   Warm Autumn      Increasing depth and coolness or warmth and lightness does not improve anything.
